Jem Manuel

Jem Manuel is a Filipino guitarist best known as the lead guitarist and founding member of December Avenue, one of the prominent modern OPM (Original Pilipino Music) bands. He has been with the group since its beginnings in 2007.

Jem’s playing is particularly interesting because he isn’t primarily about flashy shredding. His approach is more melodic, atmospheric and song-focused. December Avenue’s music often uses clean guitar parts, ambient textures, melodic lead lines and carefully chosen effects to support the emotional character of the songs.
